This is for the guy who cycles anywhere from a few miles to (say) 30 miles per week. A little recreational cycling, or a short daily commute. If you are a high-miler, you are [self-]-educated and experienced well beyond what we can offer here... although if you'd care to offer us the benefit, we're happy to learn more about bike pain causes and fixes.
There are a number of variations of the venerable bicycle. Many are for function; some are for style. Those variations result in a whole lot of combinations of shapes and proportions. Then there are people. If you thought there were a lot of shapes and sizes for bicycles, look at people. Shapes. Sizes. Proportions. Put bicycles and people together and you've got unlimited opportunities for mis-alignment, friction, and all sorts of unwanted outcomes.
Some of the more common physical disagreements between bike and rider affect the knees, the groin, the hands, the neck... and then there are some general frustrations that come with this-or-that type of bike.
